Kate laid awake for hours contemplating life and relationships.  Nathan had hurt her twice with Melanie.  The second time was obviously in retaliation for her betrayal.  Still, the first affair was during a difficult pregnancy.  Make that three times.  Finding her husband in the hospital with his little slut while accompanying her to an OB visit hurt just as much as when he slept with her.

She was tired of beating a dead horse.  Her husband had inflicted pain on her.  She hurt him too.  Why couldn’t she let him go?

The man lying next to her was romantic and dedicated to her.  All she had to do was set herself free from past restraints and love him.  He deserved a total commitment from her.  She wanted to give him one so badly.
