When Kate’s soon-to-be ex-husband brought the boys back to the mansion two days later, she informed him of her intentions to finally put him out of his misery.  On Tuesday, she would place a call to the lawyer then.  She wanted everything to be amicable.  They would share custody of the boys.

Nathan tried to smile and appear fine with the whole situation.  He thought that after their phone conversation, their relationship was changing for the better.  Neither one of them had broached the subject of divorce.  Her sudden unilateral decision was a total shock.  He used to be able to read her so well.

The expression on her husband’s face when she dealt the blow about the demise of their marriage was unsettling for Kate.  She could tell he was trying to cover...
