Nathan came back to the hospital that afternoon.  Kate was alone in her room alone and fast asleep.  He sat down in a chair to watch his angel in her state of slumber for a few minutes.  Then he made his way to the intensive care nursery for the first glimpse of her tiny baby girl. 

A nurse came out to him and asked his name.  When he replied Nathan Reed, she stated, “Oh, you’re Elizabeth’s father.  Put a gown on and you can come in to visit with your daughter.”  As he followed her instructions and accompanied her into the NICU, she continued, “Your daughter is starting to breathe on her own.  She’s doing really well.”

There had to be a mistake.  Surely, everyone on the floor knew that Howard Kensington was the father...
