When Kate’s eyes fluttered open, her grandfather was kneeling by her side.  He calmly stated that help was on its way.  When the EMT’s placed her on a stretcher, he accompanied her to the ambulance.  Once inside, she asked about her husband.  Her grandfather looked away.  He didn’t say a word on the way to the hospital. 

Her blood pressure was elevated, so she was placed in a room for observation.  Edward sat in a chair in total silence.  Kate was relieved when Leo arrived.  “Thank goodness, you’re here.  Grandfather won’t talk to me.  I need to know where Nathan is.”

Leo attempted to request the information.  “Edward, will you please tell me what’s going on.”

“Fine, but you’re not going...
