“Why didn’t you wake us?” said Felicity, her arms crossed tightly below her bosom, her breakfast of eggs, porridge, and blueberries congealing in front of her.
The family was seated at one end of the sprawling oak dining table. It seated over one hundred lords and ladies at feasts and events, but most of the time only the western side was utilized, the family seated next to each other with Markus at the very head of the table.
