cowered, whining softly, eyes averted, head bowed under the griffin’s sharp gaze. The rage in his head lessened, and fear momentarily replaced it, but Andromeda could sense little else from him. Still, she stepped around Aquila’s wing and sheathed her rapier.


              Erro raised his shaggy head and met her eyes. Aquila’s paws found the ground. Andromeda extended a hand to the wolf. He sniffed it, whining. He licked her hand and then closed the distance to do the same to her face. Andromeda put a hand to her mouth and stifled a sob.
