A vampire and a troll had been gored already. The minotaurs’ bodies were all clearly male, their muscles larger than any human’s Melanie had ever seen, and she wondered what their mates and offspring looked like. Some had the head of bulls, while others had the wide faces of buffaloes. Each was equipped with a set of lethal horns. Though she did not look at them, the minotaurs blew short, menacing snorts through their nostrils as Melanie passed.
Just beyond their ranks, she spotted a shock of curly red hair.
