“Are you sure?” said Melanie, cocking one eyebrow. “Why don’t you go ahead and kill me then?”
Thetis’ snarling face pulled back from hers and slowly softened into a lecherous grin. “Oh, no, pet. Not yet. You’re too much fun for that.” He pulled her to him by the throat and crushed his lips against hers. She brought her feet up and kicked his body away, snarling like a wildcat, but he only laughed and turned back to his flock.
