loved for the last ten years as one man, only to find out he was someone else.  Would she print out the funeral program with Elmer Daplen on it or James Hoffa?

     As we cleaned up the tea mess on the carpet, and I had said yes to helping her with the arrangements, she was silent.  Her hands and fingers tried to work the broom, but they weren’t cooperating with her very well.  Finally, she spoke in almost a whisper.

     “Elmer, I mean, Jimmy, was a good husband.  I know he loved me.  But, I always felt something odd about him, like he had this horrible secret in him he couldn’t share with me.  Now, I know why.  It’s such a shock to live with someone for so long and not know who they really are.”
