I was livid. I handed two-hundred and fifty dollars over to my sister for AJ’s fundraiser and she didn’t think to include a box of chocolates with my order. Between gifts for her and my mother there were enough candles to last us for the rest of the century, but not one piece of chocolate.

     Mostly, I was upset because there was nothing in the house for dinner. Chocolate would’ve sufficed. I was down to seasoning packets and astronaut ice cream. The crate of astronaut ice cream is for emergencies, like apocalyptic emergencies. The seasoning packets are never to be consumed again without meat.
