The Director of Finance position has yet to be filled and the rumor is that I’m a finalist. I thought it would be dumb to quit while I was in the running, so I never filed my resignation. Although I feel like even if I do get the promotion and accomplish wonderful things as the Director, my legacy would never be as great if I had quit over bagels. That might’ve been epic.

     That’s really why I considered leaving the company. I’m so ordinary. For once in my life, I’d like a great story to be told about me instead of to me. Who knows? Maybe hiking the Appalachian Trail in the future will be that great story, but I take the elevator up and down a floor to the bathroom instead of using the stairs.

     I depress me....
