E-- didn’t say much when I returned her call. Only that she wanted me to visit. I managed to ask about the thin mints, which was definitely a square peg in our conversation, but E-- did agree to part with a box. The news thrilled T--.
“You know,” I told him, “I called you to get advice about breaking up with her and now I’m on my way to pick up a box of cookies for you.”
“I do feel bad about that,” T-- said. “Do you want me to come over with the five bucks?”
