AJ has spent his summer building a LEGO castle in my parents’ living room. It’s almost three-feet tall. He stays with my parents while my sister is at work. They are concerned that he never leaves the house. There are plenty of children in the neighborhood, but AJ prefers to be alone.

     “Mom should stop buying him LEGOs,” I said.

     “True, but he needs to get out of the house,” my sister said. “Would you please take your nephew for an afternoon?”

     My sister never plays the Uncle card gracefully, but when she plays it I know she needs me.

     I can’t take AJ to a movie because his father does that on the weekends. AJ has seen every movie in the theater....
