On the wall behind his desk, my boss has one of those PERSEVERANCE pictures of a guy pushing a boulder up the side of a mountain. It looked to me that if the mountain got any steeper, the boulder would roll backwards and kill the guy.

     My boss said, “Are you even listening to me?”

     “Yes,” I told him. “Of course.”

     Why push a boulder to the top of a mountain? The picture should be called ABSURD not PERSEVERANCE.

     “Please,” my boss said, “tell me what I just told you.”
