If I don’t get a cigarette soon I’m going to pull my hair out by the roots and start screaming bloody murder. Unfortunately for me, I can tell by the oppressive fluorescent lights and the smell of antiseptics that I will not be getting a cigarette anytime soon. I also know from previous experience that screaming is not in my best interest either. From the remnants of a warm hazy glow still lingering in my mind, I suspect I’ve been drugged, most likely Haldol, the medical profession’s antipsychotic solution of choice. I don’t know why but this made me chuckle. My chuckle brought the attention of my bedsitter perched in my doorway reading a book, and halfheartedly monitoring any attempts I may make to hurt myself.
