“Something’s burning,” Noomi sniffed.

The ball***** was laughing uproariously. “Did you—hoo, man!—did you see that? I haven’t had this much fun since Doctor Alhambra******’s experiment on transdimensional flux resistance stopped up all the toilets in headquarters for a week!”

“We didn’t see it,” Noomi pointed out. “We weren’t here.”
“Not to worry,” TOM, its mirth undiminished, assured her. “I’ve got the most amazing thermal video footage—when we get back to Earth Prime, look for it on my Farcebook page!”

“Seriously, something’s burning,” Noomi insisted. As Crash and TOM giggled at each other, she made her way to the kitchen.
