The pounding on the door intensified after the shot. Hoping she had acted in time she grabbed the open briefcase, slamming it shut before any blood or brains could drip into the electronics inside.

“Stand down!” she shouted as loud as she could. “Stand down!  I’m opening the door. Stand the fuck down! It’s over!” Or at least I think it is, she thought to herself.

She opened the door to a dozen Secret Service agents all pointing their weapons at her. Carefully, she passed the briefcase to the Marine standing in the middle of the group, and gave her recently fired weapon to the Special Agent in Charge of the detail.

He looked into the room as he took the Sig Sauer P229 from her shaking hand.  “Damn, Dupree,” he said. “What have you done?&rdquo...
