CHAPTER 14
Morning brilliance lanced through the hole in the curtain, a laser-beam of visible light and hard radiation reflecting and refracting off Dieter’s glistening forehead. Sweat boiled from every pore on his hijacked face, hair alternately slicked and matted, the muscles in his neck and jaw straining—he looked like a young Bruce Banner mid-change. He was something far more dangerous than a mere Hulk; the Hulk, even at his most angry, had never possessed the power to destroy a planet.
For now, the final piece he needed to create that power eluded him, and he released his tension—his hate and anger—and slumped forward.
“Fuck!” He wheezed hard after what seemed an eternity of struggle. It had, in fact, only been eleven hour...
