“`Bout time,” Titus coughed, unable to say anything else. He climbed as quickly as he could to his feet.

“Roe, grab him and run this way,” the colonel called from down the hall.

Tess didn't hesitate. She grabbed Titus and practically carried him down the hallway in the direction the colonel had indicated.

Something was lying in the center of the hall. It was large pipe, with a glass tipped tube on top of it. A man was behind it.

“Hey, it's Major Dick!” Shade said. Titus thought Shade actually sounded pleased to see the agent.

“Down!” a voice yelled. Titus instantly recognized it as Major Richard's. Tess dove, clutching Titus like a football as they went down.

Another bang exploded down the hallway, like an empty paint...
