Tess watched as Titus slumped forward on top of the soda packages.
The world stopped. At that moment, she couldn’t think. She pounded her fists against the thick glass, ignoring the pain building up in her hands. She stood, in the small space and tried kicking but it did nothing to the case.
Titus moved.
He sat up. His hands fell from his stomach. A sound echoed from his throat, a soft chortle, then louder. He was laughing.
“I can't believe it fell for that,” Shade said in disbelief. He slid along the wall next to Titus.
Titus’s smile grew in size and transformed into a sneer at the creature’s expense.
