Tess stood up so fast her chair went flying and her hand slid out of her cuff. 

“Jenna! Is she okay?” she shouted at the ceiling, panic clamping onto her heart like a trap. 

Colonel Gardean was already at the door. “Tess, calm down. We're going to go check on her right now, okay? We're going to send you home, then Richard and I will go over there, personally, and I'll give you a call after, letting you know what's going on.”

“No, I'm going with you,” Tess insisted. 

“No, you're going home. We'll handle it,” she said. “The two of you have done enough today. Please stay out of it.”

Tess turned to Titus for backup, but he didn't come to her aid. When he spoke, it was with resignation.
