A sharp pain stabbed his insides. At first, Titus wondered if this was a panic attack, or worse, his appendix was bursting, but he heard Shade let out a painful groan as well. It was like his insides had been hooked and someone was trying to pull them out through his back.
He glanced down and saw his shadow stretched beyond possibility. The pulling sensation came again, and Titus’s knuckles grew white from his grip on the sink. Focus on the mirror, he told himself, but his reflection was no help.
His reflection changed, showing a decaying building. The dried, faded wallpaper that covered the walls began to curl. Its once blue hue lost to the yellow of age. An old radiator sat unused under a window full of jagged teeth of broken glas...
