The cold disappeared, kept out by the pants that had never been torn.

The creature watched the wound disappear. It was impossible to tell with the alien skin covering its face, but Titus thought he saw uncertainty in its eyes.

This was the dream world. It was rare for a dreamer to know they were actually in a dream, rarer still for one to be able to alter the dream world. There was no reason this creature had to know that he couldn't use his full strength. A plan formed.
