Titus stood, disturbing the layer of snow on the desk. He checked his surroundings. He was alone. That was a positive thing. His shadow was under him, lifeless and still—normal. Shade hadn't come with him. As long as Shade hadn't gotten control of his body, his absence was also a positive thing.
Mountains loomed in the distance.
“Leng,” he decided after a minute.
He hadn't fallen very deep into the Dreamlands. Nothing would be searching for him just inside the front door of the Dreamlands, he hoped. His primary goal was to survive until somebody woke him in the real world. Unfortunately, time didn't pass congruently here. It could be several hours before he woke, even if it was only a few minutes in the real world.
