The sound silenced all the natural creatures in the clearing.
A flood of emotions washed over Titus in an almost euphoric rush. The feeling of seeing another intelligent creature walk into his trap was nearly overwhelming. He didn’t get to revel in it long.
“Titus, what happened?” she asked concerned, trying to step closer to Mog-Poo.
Titus grabbed her and held her back, as the creature gripped its eyes and screamed one final time before settling into a whimper.
“That’s not Jenna, it just looks like her,” he explained quickly. Tess dropped back a bit, suddenly ready to fight. The creature uncovered its eyes, perhaps confused that its eyes still existed.
