Tess sat quietly in Interrogation Room 2.
Her dad had always complained they weren't supposed to call them interrogation rooms anymore, it was too hostile, but the description fit.
The room was decorated in the modern Spartan style. A metal table, which was bolted to the floor, sat in the middle of the chamber. On either side of the table was a plastic folding chair, the ones that couldn’t be used as a weapon.
The walls were painted white and gray and made of an odd corkboard sort of material to make the room soundproof. Unlike in the movies, there was no one-sided glass. Instead, two tiny cameras sat securely behind their protective plastic bubbles in opposite corners of the room. A flat panel television filled a portion of one of the walls.
