Tess bolted upright, throwing herself out the other side of the chair and onto the floor.

The boy shot up as if electricity had struck him.

“Miss. Roe, what are you doing on the floor? Miss Bisher demanded.

Tess managed to climb back into her seat in the moment it took the class to react. Titus's face was among them. Tess could see his eyes widen suddenly, and the gears in his head finally clicked into place.

“Uh, oh, better do something. Miss Bitch is going to tear her a new hole,” the shadow laughed, “not that it wouldn't be funny as hell to watch… I wonder where the new hole will be…”
