He was an idiot.

He got caught off guard by the simplicity of the problem and let his pride confuse him. He should have said he didn't know, like a normal ninth grader.

When the bell rang, Titus picked his head up from his desk as the other students gathered their things and began to leave the classroom.

Titus stood unenthusiastically, slowly picking up his tablet and notebooks. One or two students hung around speaking briefly to the teacher.

Titus hung back until the room was vacant except for him and Mr. Carpenter.
