The group proceeded down the staircase that they had fought to use, caution flavoring every step. They didn’t have their weapons out and ready, but kept their hands near them in case a new threat reared its head. Their footsteps echoed down the long, empty stairwell ahead of them, as well as the empty corridor that they eventually descended into. A dark tension tinged the air, making neck hairs stand to attention. Everybody in the group tensed in turn as they walked, expecting to come across a new threat that never ended up materializing.
