She came to see the olive trees as the first winds from the north came to rustle through their leaves. She looked up, and the sun winked at her from behind the hills, ready to set for the day.

The trip back had been harder on her legs and her back, but lighter on her heart. And a lighter hearts does wonders to speed up the feet.

Around her, everything looked the same as when she left, only the coloring had changed— greens turned to browns, yellows to orange. Yet, everything seemed so much brighter and beautiful than she remembered, even the small construction Iulia called home seemed bigger and squearer.

She knocked on the door. And waited. She didn’t wait long, but it felt like an eternity.

The door opened slowly, and only a sliver.
