As a former journalist, I am qualified to make the following statement.

The news sucks.

I’m not going to bore you with my usual rant about how main stream news is all corporate owned, full of misinformation and usually one subtle form of advertising after another, but it is true.

Once I met a very old, very retired journalist. He told me on quiet news weeks he and his work buddies would go to the pub and think about bogus stories. They made stuff up. But because this isn’t a Hollywood film, I couldn’t get him to go public with his story about fake stories. If I was Russel Crowe it would have been a different story about fake stories.

The news does suck.
