The biannual ride to the hospital is a refreshing change to my routine.  I don’t often travel these roads as they are not part of the route of my daily commute.   I am one who likes to change things up once in a while.  I’ll drive to the grocery store taking a different set of roads every other week. Today’s  sights are refreshing. A downtown of a small town not often visited has the feeling of a seasonal movie. This time of year, I enjoy mentally comparing all the neighborhoods’ holiday decorations. This particular town has sweet wreaths on each street light pole with a charming old fashioned Santa planted in its middle. I love the nostalgia of it. 

However, the wistfulness of the holiday decor is not comforting on this particular ride home. A...
