He said he’d leave after lunch. He said he’d take two days to make the trip. Yet, it was just after sunrise and he was already on the road. Leaving this early would get him home just after dinner so no need to take the two days. He had never been away from them for this many days in a row. The clouds glowed down at him. Pale blue mixed with pink layered upon fiery red. How majestic he admired. This sight was a radiant reward for starting off so early. He wasn’t the only one on the road; the commuters in this part of the country were his comrades on the highway.
