turned around and made some space between them and the cliff.

   “Look,” said Irith, pointing, “Smoke from a fire.”

   Kagyra squinted, he had a hard time seeing it through the snow but he could smell it and began to make his way to its source.

   “We need to be cautious,” Irith warned.

   “I don’t think so,” Kagyra replied as he came upon two men and a mostly naked woman, hunched around a small flame that was about to go out.  They were blue from the subzero temp and their shivers were like convulsions.  The flame went out as they approached and one of them cussed.

   “Fuck man, fuck!”
