Her face grew red in the sunset.  “I had to, Uncle Fen.  There was no other way, Oates almost got me the last time and I had nowhere else to go.”

   “Is that how you met up with this, Thug,” he asked?

   “Watch who you’re calling a thug,” Joseph warned.

   Trace grabbed Fen’s hand and stopped him.  “Uncle Fen, Joseph is my Protector and that’s all you need to know.  The thing is, now that I’ve spent so much time trying to get here, we need to get to father as fast as possible.  We need to go to Paradise and take one of your ships to the Points.”...
