A world so cold

Trace and Joseph  

   (Terra, just south of Teel-circa-600 imperial time)

   Trace and Joseph were only ten or so miles from the land-bridge that would lead them to the ancient city of Teel.  Joseph was her Protector and friend.  No one would ever know her like he did.  They spent the last two years breathing the same ten feet of air and eating from the same dead animal.  They weren’t lovers, no there wasn’t any romance.  Joseph came to bring her to Irith, her destined lover.  

   She spat on the ground at the thought of it.  Imagine that...
