still going to win, K,” Irith assured him from behind.  Kagyra didn’t think so, the finish line was a half a mile away and he really wasn’t going full speed, yet.  He dug deep and gave it all he had; the poison had set in good and caused a constant pain in his back.  He ignored it and pushed on.

   “I’ve been training, too,” he told Irith.

   “You need to train harder,” Irith replied from behind.

   The finish line was a quarter of a mile away now and closing.  Kagyra grinned because he knew he had won.  Irith would never catch him now.
