One Shent lifted his head and the boys noticed that they had all been beaten.  The one who lifted his head was Cino, the cadets knew him very well.  He was a Protector General.

   “Boys?  What are you doing here,” he asked through a bloody mouth.  “Hide.  Hide before he comes back!”  Cino’s head dropped and rolled side to side.  Then, all of the Protectors fell to the ground.
