Two Princes

   (Aran- 300 years after the Shent occupation.)

Irith and Kagyra

   Kagyra was chewing on some straw.  Not like a mouthful or anything.  That’d be ridiculous.  It was just a couple of long shoots and they tasted a little bitter but not too bad, really.  He chewed and sucked the nectar greedily and then his stomach grumbled.  He was lying on his back next to his brother and rolled up to an elbow and looked at him.  Irith’s eyes were closed and he appeared to be sleeping.  Kagyra knew better and shook him.   “I’m hungry, Irith,” he said, playfully.
