Chapter 10

Tuesday, September 8, 2009: late evening

I was so absorbed that I jumped when a knock came at the door. I glanced up to see Runner, Paul and a strange man enter the apartment.

Runner nodded at the stranger. “This is Mack. He’s the one who adopted the kid.”

I looked Mack over. He was a bit shorter than Runner but every bit as well muscled. His long, black hair was pulled into a neat ponytail that hung halfway down his back. He dressed similarly to Runner. I guessed that t–shirts, blue jeans and Western boots were what all fashionable werewolves were wearing this year.
