I was pretty sure that was it. End of the career of Dafydd the Warlock. Morvyth was practically on top of me. I could see the delighted gleam in her dark eyes. She was going to enjoy this, and there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.

Something hit her in the back, knocking her almost on top of me.

I had just enough of my breath back to scramble to the side.

Morvyth rolled with the hit and came up on her feet, snarling at whatever had attacked her.

Paul was crouched behind her, fangs and claws extended. His eyes glowed, and he snarled at the witch.

He looked so damned hot like that.

His eyes darted in my direction for just a moment. “Run, Dafydd. I’ve got this.”
