Chapter 26

November 6, 2010. Early morning

Jim woke early the next morning and went to the dining room to continue his work. He was surprised to see Denise had beat him to the kitchen and the coffee maker.

“You’re up early.”

She glanced at the clock on his stove. “So are you.”

“I’m usually an early riser, even when I’m not figuring out how to get rid of a troublesome spirit.”

She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “I couldn’t sleep, what with worrying about Kevin and everything else.”
