Kevin held up a hand. “Coming to this story late here. What dream?”

Jim filled him in quickly. When he got to the end he said, “I know this is going to sound backwards, but the subconscious isn’t always rational. I was convinced that John was something different, something more than just a normal spirit. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to deal with him. My fears prevented me from turning around, from seeing something I couldn’t face. My dream was warning me that my fears were getting in my way.”
