Chapter 22

November 4, 2010. Late afternoon

Jim pushed back the book he’d been reading and sat back in his chair, stretching his back and closing his eyes with a deep sigh.

“That good?’ came Denise’s voice from across the table, where she’d also been thumbing through book after book of angel lore. Jim had amassed a large collection over the years, and, while he didn’t remember anything about fallen angels and demon-like deals, they’d decided it was better to look again and be certain.

Without bothering to open his eyes, Jim said, “Yeah. Fallen angels do lots of things, but apparently deals aren’t among them, which makes my whole theory fall apart.”
