Chapter 21

November 4, 2010. Mid-morning

Jim asked if he could come along to Denise’s meeting with Kevin, and he heard the relief in her voice when she said she thought it was a good idea.

They didn’t talk during the drive. He had plenty to think about, going over ritual ideas in his mind. He didn’t know what she was thinking about, but he suspected she needed the time to process everything that had happened.

Kevin hadn’t wanted to meet her at his precinct, and he’d suggested the Silver Diner on Ox Road. Jim thought he remembered that was where John had killed himself and wondered if the location selection meant anything.
