She nodded. “Yes, but it was strange.”
“How so?”
“Well, I was blacking out right about then, but I thought he asked how he knew me and why he wanted me.”
Jim frowned and twirled his cane with on hand. “Want you? Any idea what he might have meant by that?”
She shook her head. “Got me.” Sitting back on the bench, she closed her eyes for a moment. “I mean. He’s my husband, or, I guess ex-husband is more accurate.” She gave a rueful grin at that. “Why wouldn’t he know me? I’d think that wanting me would be obvious. He was a possessive bastard in life. Why’d he be any different in death?”
Jim’s expression was distant. “I’m starting to make some guesses...
