There was a pause, and Jim heard Dafydd yell over his shoulder, “Want him to come over now?” He assumed the young warlock was asking Paul, and a moment later, the answer came back. “Sure, Paul says that’ll be fine. You’ll hit rush hour traffic, though.”

Jim shrugged even though the motion wouldn’t be visible over the phone. “I’ll still get there sooner than you’ll get here. Something tells me we don’t have lots of time to wait.”

“Agreed.”
