McKinney did not sleep well. He found himself acutely aware of every change in breathing and every rustle of sheets coming from the other bed. What do I really hope happens here? He never could settle on an answer. He had just about fallen fully asleep when he became aware of noises coming from the other room. Opening one eye he could see a light in the other room. It was still dim in his room, but light enough to see. I might as well get up, because I sure as hell am not going to get any more sleep.  He clawed the sheets back, swung his legs over the edge of the bed, and started toward the bathroom.

“Callum…” he heard from the other bed,”…would you toss me my nightshirt?” There was a playful tone in her voice. “It’s over on the chair....
