There was a long and very pregnant silence for what seemed like an eternity.

“There is a secondary, but equally important, aspect of this mission. Figuring out if the killings are in any way tied to our teams monitoring activities.” Thorroddson offered.

“I have several questions pertaining to that.” Geffen posited.

“Like what?” one of the council members asked.

“First...” Geffen started, “is what are up against? Let’s assume that the Greys are behind this. That they suspect their subject was being watched. If that is the case, we have already established that they are willing to kill to protect their secrets. Are we willing to do the same thing?”

“If we are threatened…” the other Council member started.
