Three years.  Phil didn’t have the luxury of going back in time like his nephew, so he was methodical in his approach.  Still, it took three years and more slips through the wall than he could count before he was completely satisfied.  In this reality, James—or whatever the assassin’s real name was—was right.  The story flared bright for a time, with many conspiracy theorists coming out of the woodwork with their wild accusations or claims of “false flags,” but in the end it all amounted to nothing.  The story died with a whimper within months, and the world got back to its business.  It seemed that one man, even a congressman, was not essential to the workings of the world.
